Cardinal Benitez delivers his decisive speech in Spanish
Plot
When Cardinal Lawrence is given the task of presiding over one of the world’s most secret and ancient events: the election of a new Pope. He finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the foundations of the Catholic Church. This is Carlos Diehz’s first major film appearance, having previously appeared in only two short student films. He was an architect by trade until 2020, when his last child moved out and he decided to pursue a new interest by taking online acting classes and going to auditions.
However, this assumption is incorrect
It’s a bit far-fetched to think that all the other cardinals can understand him without any problem. All of the cardinals are fluent in Latin by default, and many speak Italian in other conversations in the film. All of these languages are part of the Romance family, so it’s not far-fetched to assume that the majority of cardinals have a basic knowledge of Spanish. Sister Agnes: Although we sisters are meant to be invisible, God has nevertheless given us eyes and ears.
But then, unfortunately, came the end
Quoted in The Saad Truth: My review of Conclave (film) – Wokeism Destroys Everything (2024). Allegri: MisererePerformed by Capella Musicale Pontificia Sistina, Massimo PalombellaCourtesy of Deutsche Grammophon GMBHUnder license from Universal Music Operations Ltd. I have just come out of the cinema after seeing Conclave, a film I was really looking forward to and enjoyed very much. Throughout most of the film, I was so captivated by the great cinematography, fantastic performances, great score and high quality costumes and production design that I was convinced the film had to get a 10/10.
What do you leave with the audience?
I believe that the ending of a film is the most important part. What is your final message to them? Well, in this film, it is so contrived, confusing and absurd that every last statement is muddled and I left the theater with a bad taste in my mouth. The ending is so unrealistic that it threatens to destroy every image of what came before.
It only serves to make a statement about the church and shock the audience
Now, this doesn’t ruin the film as a whole (at least not for me), but it unfortunately tarnishes an otherwise great film.
